Look Who's Talking!

Vince said "Da-da!" on Thursday May 22nd at 11:45am! Matt has been working with him for a while now so it's about time he said it. Then he said it again while I was making his lunch and I repeated "Da-da?" and he goes "Da-da!" It was great. Too bad Da-da was not around to hear it! Vince is very verbal now and loves to babble. It's really cute! While seated he can now turn around a complete circle to get toys that are behind him or to follow you as you walk around the room. He has started to move about more so hopefully he can start the crawling process soon.
These days are hit and miss lately. He will have a really good day and then the next can be a total nightmare. I think it's because his final top tooth is breaking through of the four that are coming down. The littlest things, such a noise or a funny look from someone, set him off. Poor little guy :(
I think he frustrated that he cannot communicate with us and he is very limited in his mobility. That would make anyone upset!

We had a nice visit with Aunt Amy and Uncle Russell. We went to the Dallas Arboretum and it was a beautiful day to walk around the park. We leave to go to St. Louis on Friday and are really looking forward to it. I know Grammy VB is excited to see Vince.

I bought Vince a bike helmet at Target. We got him a seat that attaches to Matt's bike and he needed a helmet to protect his little head before we ride. We haven't had time yet to take him out on the bike, but I am sure he'll enjoy it when we do.

Pulling Up!

Vince pulled himself up from sitting to standing on Tuesday. He showed his true Von Brock colors and pulled himself up onto the lap top computer that was on the coffee table! He did it a few more times later that day. Yesterday he and I went to a play date and he tried to pull up onto me, but wasn't successful. He'll get it soon I am sure.

The two upper teeth have broke through and are showing when he laughs. Although he isn't laughing very much and has be quite the fussy-butt! He has been crying and screaming very loudly, more than I've ever heard before. He is also sure of what he wants and doesn't want. He will knock things out of my hand if he doesn't want them. Sometimes forcefully too. They say this is a milestone, but it's no fun for Mommy!

I had a wonderful first Mother's Day. Matt made me breakfast in bed, got me two dozen red roses, had Vince bring me a balloon bouquet in the morning, took me to a park for a picnic lunch, made me a great dinner with chocolate fondue for dessert and got me a gift! WOW! I am spoiled. Matt is a great dad and wonderful husband. Vince and I love him sooo much!!

I've posted some new pics of Vince at play dates with his friends and a play date at our house.

One pic Vince is sitting w/a pirate skull. That one is funny because Matt dressed him and I said he looked like a pirate. The other precious pic is from yesterday. He had a really fussy day and then took a good nap so I snapped a pic while he was looking so angelic.

Jumpin' Jack--uh, I mean Vince! ;)

Vince has had this jumper toy for a while now, but he just started to figure it out today. By the time I took this video he was wearing down. He was really getting into it earlier. It was hilarious!! I said he looked liked the Irish jig dancers (Riverdance? or something) as his feet were really going crazy. It may take a while to view the video if you download it. I've never posted a video here before so I am not sure how it will work.

He is getting so smart too. With one of his toys he is trying to put the block in the correct hole and did manage to get it in with mommy's help. I can't believe how much he knows already! It is amazing. He also moves a heck of a lot more lately. No, he isn't crawling (really getting sick of people asking me that). He is rolling everywhere now though. I left him in the middle of the family room on his blanket and came back a few minutes later and heard him fussing. I could not see him anywhere! I went into the family room and saw him stuck underneath our coffee table / ottoman! He managed to roll under the coffee table and completely turn himself around. He took a toy with him on the journey and they had trouble getting out from under there. He kept lifting his head up and would bonk the bottom of the ottoman each time. Silly boy!
