Happy Easter!

Vince had a nice first Easter! We went over to Aunt Jen's the night before to dye eggs with Jack. We let the kids each dye one egg, then put them to bed and we did the rest. On Easter Sunday, we went to church and then out to eat at a place downtown McKinney called The Pantry. They had a nice Easter buffet with a bunch of yummy food that we didn't have to cook (which was the best part!). Later in the afternoon, we went back over to Jen and Winn's for an Easter egg hunt with the kids. Jack seemed to really like it and Vince had no idea what was going on, but had fun anyway. Everyone got into the spa (including Vince and Jack--the temperature was set lower for them) except for myself. Vince really liked it and splashed around like crazy. He is so much more mobile and wiggly now. It's getting difficult to hold him as he just wiggles around in your arms. Although he is still very affectionate, and I'd say even more so than before. He absolutely loves to give kisses and they are the very best kisses!
(Click on the pictures above to see them larger. I will update more pics later. The pics above are out of order, but I am sure you can figure it out ;)

We went to two birthday parties this weekend. One for a friend of mine in our mommy group. Her daughter, Sunehra, turned one. It was a large first birthday with a lot of her family members, some from India. They had a clown making balloon animals and doing face painting. Vince got a bunny balloon animal and really liked it. He was the happiest baby at the party. Even more so than the birthday girl herself. I've noticed that baby girls don't smile as much as the boys do. They are also not as active either. After Sunehra's birthday, we went to Anthony's 2nd birthday. Anthony had a bean bag chair that we put Vince in and he really liked it. Vince didn't do much at this party as he was the youngest one there.

6 months old today!

Vince has officially made it to the half-way point of his first year of life! What a great first half it has been! Seems like yesterday we were walking in the door bringing him home from the hospital. Boy has he changed since then! I know I am partial to my child's good looks, but I did submit these three photos today to a modeling agency. He just has such a great little face and a super personality so I think he would be good at it. Let's hope he gets chosen =)

Meal Time

Vince is now eating baby foods. He really likes the green beans! We started a few days ago and he is taking to it very well. For lunch and dinner he eats green beans and sweet potatoes and sometimes pears or bananas. He really doesn't care for the fruit that much. He just likes the veggies! Things are much messier now especially bibs and diapers ;)

Today I gave him a teething biscuit toast thing today as a snack and as you can see from the pictures, it made a mess! He even got parts of it up his nose! (you can click on the pics to make them larger)

Vince is such a great baby. His demeanor has not changed that much since he was an infant. The only time he cries is if he is dirty or wet, hungry or tired. His teeth have made him a little fussy lately, but other than that, he is just the sweetest little guy! He was upset yesterday so I sang him one of his favorite songs and he started to give me kisses on the cheek! I got about 9 or so kisses. I love Vince's kisses. They are the best and just make my day. I made up the song he really likes, and every time I sing it, he will calm down. It goes like this (to the tune of 'You are my Sunshine'):

You are my pumpkin
My tiny pumpkin
And I love you very much
So does Daddy
and Oliver and Roxie
we all love you a bunch!
For some reason he loves when I sing it. And I really can't carry a tune.

We took Vince to the gym's pool on Sunday afternoon. He did not like the pool at first and made noises like he was yelling. I think it was because it was full of kids and was really loud. He will enjoy our pool at home much better. He warmed up to it towards the end, but never really enjoyed it. Matt thinks it will take some time and a few more tries before he gets into it.

It's snowing in Texas!

Vince got his first taste of snow today! This is the second time it has snowed this week, but on Monday it melted pretty quickly and Vince never got to see it. I put on his hat (used to be Jack's and it is sooo cute!) and wrapped him all up and out the door we went. He was just really interested in looking around. I think his teeth hurt a lot today so he didn't act too excited by the snow. Because his teeth have been hurting, I gave him a bottle of ice water and he held it all by himself! I wanted to take pics of him sitting to show you that he can sit up, but right after he reached for the bottle, he tipped over! He keeps flipping onto his tummy at night and will wake up crying because he can't figure out how to roll back over. I think he needs more space to roll over from tummy to back. He is able to do that on the floor, just not in his crib. So, Mommy was up 3 times during the night to flip his little butt over! I did not get much sleep as I am still fighting this cold. Matt came home from work early because of the snow. We are expecting 3-5 inches! Our pool is now full of snow and they came this morning to put the tile in, and pretty much all of the tile slide off and is now floating on the bottom of the pool. Why didn't they just wait to do it? It is looking really nice though despite that. We will update with pics as soon as the snow melts.
Vince has found his vocal cords for sure! He has been screamin' like a little girl lately! Just for fun, not because he is upset or anything. It's actually quite cute. We've upgraded the nipple size on his bottle and feeding time flies by now! It's down to 7 minutes or so for a full bottle, where it used to take 20 minutes or so. He is also eating banana flavored rice cereal. He did not like it at all when he first tried it. He'd spit it out and make a face. (Worse face than the squash if you can believe it!) Now he is okay with it and will finish all of it.
